剪纸的介绍（Introduction of Paper-Cutting）

        剪纸，又叫刻纸，是中国汉族最古老的民间艺术之一，剪纸是一种镂空艺术，其在视觉上给人以透空的感觉和艺术享受。其载体可以是纸张、金银箔、树皮、树叶、布、皮革等片状材料。

        剪纸在中国农村是流传很广的一种民间艺术形式。这种民俗艺术的产生和流传与中国农村的节日风俗有着密切关系，逢年过节亦或新婚喜庆，人们把美丽鲜艳的剪纸贴在雪白的墙上或明亮的玻璃窗上、门上、灯笼上等，节日的气氛便被渲染得非常浓郁喜庆。

        剪纸起源于古人祭祖祈神的活动，根植于博大精深的中国传统文化之中。两千年的发展史，使   它浓缩了汉文化的传统理念，在其沿革中，与彩陶艺术、岩画艺术等艺术相互交织在一起，递延着古老民族的人文精神与思想脉搏。成为汉传统文化的一个组成部分，是传统信仰与人伦道德的缩影，也是观察一个民族的民俗风文化传承的窗口。

      Paper-cutting is one of the oldest folk art of Han nationality in China. Paper-cutting is a kind of hollow art, which visually gives people a sense of openness and artistic enjoyment. The materials needed include paper, gold and silver foil, bark, leaves, cloth, leather, and so on.

        In China, paper-cutting is a popular form of folk art in the countryside. The spread of this folk art is closely related to the festival customs in countryside areas. People will decorate the snow-white walls or bright glass windows, doors, and lanterns by using paper-cutting works during New Year’s celebrations. The festive atmosphere is rendered very rich and festive.

       Paper-cutting originated from prayers activities. The development history of two thousand years has made it condensed the traditional concepts of Han culture. In its evolution, it is intertwined with painted pottery art, rock painting art and other arts. As an integral part of Han traditional culture is the epitome of traditional ethics, and it is also a window to observe the heritage of a nation’s folk customs and culture.

鉴赏与心得（Art Appraiser and Reflection）

        我的剪纸作品分别是平安符剪纸，戏水的鸳鸯剪纸和立体春字剪纸。首先，平安符剪纸顾名思义，平安符寄托了保平安的寓意。此外，平安符在古代大多数是在这些场合被请出的，一是小孩出生，长辈会为刚出生的小孩佩戴一枚平安符，保佑孩子长命百岁平平安安，二是战士出征时，妻子为即将远行的丈夫送上一枚亲手缝制的平安符，保佑丈夫在战场上能够平安的活着回到自己的身边。其次，在剪纸文化中，鸳鸯的双双形影不离，飞则展翅，游则同戏，栖则连翼交颈而眠的特点也就常被用来比喻人们的爱情、婚姻，作为美满、专一的象征。另外，春字在剪纸中的含义则是一般被喻为吉祥、喜庆、幸福和希望、更多的用于春节祝福。

        最后，通过完成这次的剪纸，我获益良多，同时也充分体会到了剪纸的魅力。从中，我也了解到民间剪纸的表现语言不是简单的平铺直叙，而是托物寄语，借用那些约定成俗的观念化形象，来寄托人们对美好生活的向往，对吉祥幸福的期盼。再者，我也感到非常开心，因为学到这门考验细心和耐心的手工艺术。

      My paper-cutting works are “Ping Anfu”, “Mandarin ducks playing in the water” and “Three-dimensional Spring Characters”. First of all, “Ping AnFu” embodies the meaning of safeguarding. When a child was borned, the elders would wear a “Ping AnFu” for the newborn babies to bless them to live a long life and always in safe. Furthermore, the wife will give a hand-stitched “Ping AnFu”to her husband who was about to travel, due to bless her husband to return to her side safely from the battlefield. Secondly, in paper-cutting culture, the pair of mandarin ducks are inseparable, they fly, they swim and even rest together at everytime. People often use mandarin ducks to  as a metaphor someone’s sweet love and marriage. In addition, the meaning of the word "chun" in paper-cutting is generally referred to auspicious, festive, happiness and hope during the Spring Festival.

        I gained satisfaction after completing  my paper-cutting art work and I totally realized the charm of it. The way of paper-cutting expresses its language is not in a straightforward narrative, but a message of consignment, borrowing those conventional conceptual images to entrust people's yearning for a better life and hope for auspicious happiness.  I am glad to learn this handcraft  that trained my patience as well.
